Paathai Trust’s 8th Miyawaki Mini Forest
Project Cost = INR 7,50,000 ( 7.5 Lakhs)
Near the Tiruvarur New Bus Stand, approximately 1.5 acres of municipal land, which had been covered with garbage and overgrown bushes, was cleared and restored. The development of a mini forest with 1,250 native tree saplings, at an estimated cost of ₹7.5 lakh, was commenced on August 16, 2026.
At the inaugural tree-planting ceremony for the project, Tiruvarur District Collector Mr. V. Mohanachandran, IAS, Nagapattinam Member of Parliament Mr. V. Selvaraj, and Tiruvarur Member of the Legislative Assembly Mr. Poondi K. Kalaivanan participated and planted saplings to formally launch the mini forest project.
The event was also enthusiastically attended by the Chairperson of Tiruvarur Municipality, municipal councillors, government officials, school students, and members of the public, who joined in planting the saplings.
