Paruthikottai Miyawaki Mini Forest
With financial support from Paathai Trust, a Miyawaki Mini Forest with more than 3,000 native tree saplings was established at Paruthikottai village. The project was launched on September 19, 2021.
The project was organized by the Paruthikottai Village Panchayat, under the project planning and supervision of Mr. Vanam Kalaimani.
The initiative was undertaken as part of Paathai Trust’s efforts to increase green cover, restore the local environment, and create sustainable community-owned green spaces across the Thanjavur delta region.
On behalf of Paathai Trust, we extend our sincere thanks to the Paruthikottai Village Panchayat for organizing and supporting the project and Vanam Kalaimani and his team for planning, supervising, and executing the project on the ground; and to all the volunteers and local residents who contributed to the successful establishment of this Miyawaki Mini Forest.
